Epicenter
EPICENTER

John Hitchock is collaborateing with TWU's graphic design department to create an interactive collaborative print environment. Artwork is typically put on a pedestal or under glass in museums removing it from the auidence. Hitchcock's approach is to bring the art directly to the viewer.
Our assignment in my typography class was to create a 5x8 " depiction of what epicenter means to us. Above is my depiction.

The sixties were a time of counterculture and social revolution that have greatly inspired my graphic work lately. I was introduced to a book entitled High Art by Jana Perez and in the book one can witness the effect this social revolution had on advertisements of this time period.

This being said I combined my resources and research and created a design for the Greater Denton Arts Council. (Right: these are some examples on my inspiration) In May they are having a silent auction for purses that people have made or decorated in some way. The event is called It's in the bag! The event is really quite whimsical, fun, and creative. Sticking to those main ideas I created this save the date flyer below.

My younger brother, Jason, is an advocator of self expression. He has taken up blogging by the name of "Star Boy!". His spirit inspires me daily to never hold back and always laugh out loud. Take a look at his blog and prepare to be enlightened on the life of the coolest 12 year old boy around. He is a cancer so he is always loving and enjoys family. Little girls beware!
He is a heart breaker!
Pace. Amore. Sempre.

Jean-Antione Watteau

This is my painting Mia famiglia. I created it upon my return from Italy. It displays my little sister on a vanity surrounded by walls in which I collaged faces of my mother, father, brother, sister(same as on the vanity) and myself into the walls of the room. The idea of collage within painting fascinates me.
